Ok so i installed jamroom 5 - [login to view URL] on my server
Person who is trying to import my old website to server has some permission issues
His mail
"There are permission issues with the server setup.
When I try to run the import, it cannot create a required folder, an error I've never had before when importing.
I created that folder 'by hand' and imported the profiles only to find that none of the profile media folders had been created.
I created another instance of JR5 in a Jamroom5 folder but when trying to install, it reports that the media folder is not writable.
I changed its permissions from 755 to 777 (not recommended) and the install happened but then the JR5 server check reports that the modules and skins folders are not writable. I don't want to permission them to 777 as I shouldn't have to.
Can you check the server configuration wrt permission and make sure that it complies with the Jamroom5 requirements?"
After that he sent me this
Hi
I think that the mod_ruid2 installation sorts out permissions - [login to view URL]
Not sure if that is the issue, but worth checking.
So yeah i need someone to install mod_ruid2 and fix the permission issues...
Basically someone who will "stay" with me untill we manage to import the site...
For people that know this stuff its and easy job... (i hope)
Easy! All you need is to use the chmod command right. Also this is very important step as we need to grant only the required permissions, otherwise we may open a door to hackers!
