I have a web site that needs a revised shopping cart (from the old VPASP to the new 7.0 ver), although I am not sure of what real advantages
upgrading is going to be. I also need to inegrate this with a JP Chase merchant account (there is an an existing gateway account with Authorize.Net.)
I can handle all the graphics part of this (and any other rote work), so you would only need to set up the new cart, revise the existing database
(or do a new one), and get it all working. \
We are using VP-ASP so that we can generate product search result pages on the fly instead of creating static pages for hundreds of products.
Everything is to be hosted on 1and1 in a Windows based account. Please do not suggest hosting this at your favorite provider. We are only going to do this at 1and1, so if that is a problem for you, stop here.
In addition, the bottom line is that this site has sold a grand total of $140 worth of stuff in the past year while costing probably $3500 to set up and run, so the sky is NOT the limit here. We are losing money now. If we are talking about thousands of dollars to re-do this thing, it just won't work. I'll go back to the PayPal cart that came with the template.
See ArtOnYourWall dot Com and WaringAbbott dot Com (the
cart on the latter feeds through he AOYW site). right now the AOYW site is a little scrambled since I just moved it from where it was being hosted back to 1and1.
You will need to set up WaringAbbott dot com to work via the AOYW cart so that we do not have to pay for two merchant accounts.
If you have a better idea than VP-ASP I am open to it. If you do not have any experience with VP-ASP please do not plan on learning VP-ASP on the job. If we both agree on VP-ASP then please refer me to a site where you used it to set up a cart.
although your primary job is to create a functioning shopping cart, it is critical that together we make sure that all pages of these sites function. So if something is wrong with the site in general, this must be fixed in order for the cart to work. There are sure to be some other issues, so you should discuss this with me in great detail before coming up with a proposal. I have had experience in this site's earlier version with coders making ridiculous 'low-ball' estimates and then telling me later on that it is not possible to do the work for the original figure. Please do not insult both of us by doing this.....
