Code for buttons to activate target links

My wordpress theme has a "tour" feature which lets me do a step by step process. I currently have buttons within each step to continue on to the next step. These currently are unable to activate the next "tab", which makes the user click the tab on the left hand side. I'd ideally like to be able to code each button to click the tab.
The link that shows when I highlight over the tab is just an html target "[login to view URL] for example. If I set the buttons to use the same link, it does not work.

In the screenshot, the "CONTINUE" button is what I'd like.
I imagine for anyone familiar, this should be an easy fix (I imagine) so I listed it as a Micro/Small Project.
