No need to use any plug in, I will make it by simple coding only :) >> General Method: -Create a custom filed with the name video_url & the value set to a normal you tube video ID. -Next dump the video into the theme, by oEmbeded functionality in WP. -You Tube URL is dumped & automatically inserts the embed code. In case of dynamically adding url to the theme, I will use wp_oembed_get() function. In coding, I can apply few conditions like: // check if there is in fact a video URL by $videoID & echo the embedded code via oEmbed. Now the video will display wherever I place the code on the provision a video URL was actually added with a custom field. >> Secondly, can make an index page of all video posts but show the video thumbnail directly from You Tube instead of the video itself. - Calls up the You Tube video thumbnail or, if no URL is provided, the featured image from WP. - Add a container and a link around the video; Will apply class ='tinyVideoThumb' - Get the video URL from custom field - Apply Query You Tube for video meta data - Decode the json data from You Tube & put it in a readable format - Now, Echo out the thumbnail, give it height and weight and set the alternate description to post title But the above of course only works for You Tube videos, and only if they are entered with the full URL and none of the other junk that often comes along with You Tube video URLs.
