Fix Error 403 in Serverside AJAX Datatables

Using Codeigniter framework and have a table using datatables. It is set to pull records by AJAX serverside processing. It has worked great until recently, when all of a sudden, it has started to give a 403 error. This error only seems to happen once and a while, usually when searching or sometimes when you first go to the page. If you trigger it too often, the server will boot you off for an hour or so (due to mod-security rule), so you will need to be careful not to trigger it too much. You will need to: a) find what is causing the error and fix it. b) explain to me exactly what you did, so I can log the changes. Only those who have lots of experience with Codeigniter, serverside processing and datatables will be chosen.
