article to video converter

This is for a program similar to Article Video Robot. I need to convert a lot of articles into videos, perhaps as .wmvs? I need something like Article Video Robot, but that is a monthly subscription site, which I could not afford? I have to cover a large number of articles. I'm hoping there may be something low cost, which could do this already, or perhaps another simple solution can be found? I looked at Windows Movie Maker, but breaking each article into say 40 or 50 sentences and then getting each sentence either done as a voice-over, or converting it to speech somhow, might take a very long time? I don't need fancy pictures etc, or whizzbang transitions. Just plain Black text on White for each sentence, together with a narration of the sentence, will do fine? Similar to Article Video Robot.
