I have a book cover file I need modified to fit BN Press requirements for printing. Here are my problems, according to them:
We reviewed your account and Devotions from the Northern Edge cover needs to be edited and uploaded again.
Devotions from the Northern Edge:
Ink coverage exceeds 300% CMYK on the interior overall. This will cause printing problems such as streaking, spotting, and cracking. The overall combined percentage of CMYK values of artwork for our presses should be less than 240%. All colors in the artwork should contain less than 240% CMYK overall color density. Please adjust the affected areas on the cover, and resubmit the PDF.
The error message is referring to your cover and how the file is built. The file is very layered and causing an inconsistent black percentage. Layered prints with a richer black which is evident by the darker areas around the text on the cover. We are not able to print to print the file in it’s current state any other way. The darker areas need to be 240% black coverage not 330%.
If you can make these adjustments from my existing CorelDraw X7 file, please quote me. I can't get the file to successfully save to .ai or other format, so you'd need to work from the CorelDraw file. Thanks.
