Research work

For an internal management report we are looking for an analyst who is able to conduct preparatory research work. We are preparing a study about the history of contemporary parcel lockers, self-service machines like "Amazon Lockers" or various other e-commerce/logistics company use around the globe. In the course of preparing this report, we are looking for information regarding the first respectively very earliest producers of automated parcel lockers prior 2000. The preparatory research work we are looking for should be able to answer the following questions (the more information the better): - Who have been most likely the first operator of automated parcel lockers (globally)? Are there any detailed information about these installations available: installation date, pictures, location, details on operator, etc.? - Has there been any automated parcel lockers in operation prior the year 2000 (globally)? If yes - are there any detailed information about these lockers available: installation date, pictures, location, details on operator, etc.? Please note, that only information on parcel lockers installed for public use prior the year 2000 is of relevance for us, so please do not waste any time with later installations. A "parcel locker" in the course of the management report is an automated parcel locker machine incl. a monitor for delivery/pick-up of parcels, which opens/closes its compartments through electromechanical locks or similar hardware. "Traditional" lockers (e.g. for use in gyms or for use as luggage lockers) using padlocks or something similar to secure the compartments are not of interest. If you would like to accept this project, we expect a short report which should be able to answer the above-mentioned questions incl. the hand-over of all your sources. The report itself does not need to be any high-quality prose, a readable text highlighting the most important messages would be more than enough. The final report will be written by us!
