Python embedded simple design (develop code and hardware )

develop simple Python embedded project, read/write data to the board ( pyboard or Arduino or Teensy or ESP8266 or etc ) by using python on my laptop (Windows or MAC)

I need to teach me how creat: python code runs on computer , this code can write and read data to small device (size of usb flush memory) . I need both code on computer and hardware device to be created, when as hardware can be used, existing boards

Time for completion is 2 months

Project result is created by me : python code on computer and hardware board which can be connected to computer by USB port. Python code can write and read short data files to/from board.
When board is disconnected from USB drive of computer , data still located on board. When board connected again saved on board data can be read or rewritten or added if needed by using only python code. Device size is like USB flash memory driver. I buy needed parts by myself and assemble them. It should work on Windows and MAC computers.
Board is not usual USB memory stick, but some microcontroller based device , that data can be read/written only by using special protocol encoded by python code on computer. This way hardware encryption implemented for data access.
