Lyme disease is gaining more traction and more awareness especially now that celebrities have come out and acknowledged that ͞yes this does exist, and by the way I’ve been struggling with it for some time now͟. It is devastating, ruining lives, and killing people. There are some amazing organizations out there actively raising awareness and funds for research and a cure. There are fewer organizations that are 100% focused on education, prevention, and current treatment for Lyme Disease. While we are waiting for a cure, we need to talk about the prevention and education so people can prevent, protect themselves, and know what to do when they do come into contact with a tick. We’ve been working on a way to bring this mainstream, to engage children and adults in a way that can be fun, interactive, and educational. The conversation around Lyme Disease is hard, because it is so devastating. We want to do something that is light hearted to get people to engage in this conversation. That is why we’ve created the idea for a game called exploding ticks. Our plan is to create the game in multiple platforms accessible as a phone app, online, gaming consoles, and even a board game.
