Help building on-premises VDI

We are a HR start-up looking to setup an on-premises VDI server for 20 people. We are hoping for advice regarding necessary hardware and what software will best fit the task.

We are aiming for a paperless environment where we’d like our staff to be granted the ability to access their workplace wherever and whenever they wish from whichever device they have at hand.

Users on the VDI will be running Google Workspace, with our internal processes being dependent on SaaS based services, where some file sharing may be required between instances. Small utilities such as 7-zip and a PDF editor will need to be natively installed, but nothing too strenuous.

The underlying reason for setting up the VDI is to serve as a preventive measure for deliberate or accidental data leaks from any internal agents, as the VDI will confine our data.

Additionally, we would like to market this solution to clients as a remote ‘work from home’ solution in addition to internal use within our organisation.
