Do you have any existing Excel spreadsheet or manually written data so I can design database for the same. 2) It will mainly be .. =>Ok, You want a Central database, let me clarify how many users are going to use this database concurrently, If it is desktop database with 1-2 users we can use MS Access as backend more more than 4 or 5 users then we can use SQL Server as backend. Are the users going to use from Internet OR LAN ? if its Internet we can use Pass Through Query that will speed-up inserting data to hosted SQL Server database. If its on LAN we can use SQL Server with linked tables as well. so we can easily accessible when viewing the file in Microsoft Access. Microsoft Access is a great tool for making initial prototype database and then later convert the same for a larger environment. It is easily scalable. Unless you want to make it a web application, otherwise it is exceptional tool and easy to work with. 2)Some basic reports ... =>Ok, what page size you want to use for the report ? A4 size ? what fields you want on the report, do you have a excel sample to show me ? How many reports you want in this database ?
