Hi, I've done similar things for several software. So what we'll do is setup a PHP script connected to a MySQL table which tells if a certain license is active or not. Then the VB.net code would communicate with the server and verify that it's active or not. Ping me in chat for further discussion.

You question is, can I retrieve the date via a link in a webserver and put it in the access variable? Well yes, What you want to do is basically the activity of an ordinary client-server program. But is your server programmed to return the required data (date) based on a specific query ? Visual basic is lone gone. . . . It's now quite obsolete to work with it in general. What do you mean by closing database here by the way ?
