In order to enhance the concept of openness and to allow the user to move in a fluid, transparent and fonctional area, some of the appartement spaces were seperated by a large glass walls. This also helps to preserve the view to the terrace and the sea...

The client wanted to refurbish the ground floor of the duplex that he finds closed and stuffy. He wanted an open and fluid space.
To minimize the cost of the intervention, the client asked us to keep the stairwell, the structure , the fluids and electricity installations.
To promote transparency and open spaces, I tried to decompartmentalize the space as much as possible while taking in consideration the existing frame of the posts.
After the demolition of the wall separating the two living rooms, and in order to hide the two posts, I thought of a large library as a central decorative element separating the two spaces.
The refurbishment work also required the demolition of the existing false ceiling. The new ones have two different heights in order to be able to install new different air conditionning grids ( lateral instead of vertical) and keep on ensuring the visual continuity at the same time.
