An elegant, customizable floor lamp that can add a unique ambience to any space. Oniro features plastic sleeves that allow for the user to insert their own old 35mm film, thus giving an obsolete technology new life and new meaning within the context of any space. James and Elina took inspiration from the form of the film reel andhave abstracted its image into an alternating series of curved wooden strips. Using the combination of wood, a traditional building material, with 35mm negative film, an unorthodox design element, a truly unique feeling is created. The amber light that passes through the film has a dream-like quality that can be best described simply as "old". As the bulb is dimmed, the light becomes warmer - blurring the linear effect but accentuating the ambience.
