React.js Front-end Designer

My name is Nicolas and I like to solve problems. After my Masters degree in IT, I helped people to have better websites. I have now 6 years of experience in an agency and freelance environments (with Agile methodologies and processes), creating the design (wireframes first and then mockups) and turn these into a website (with HTML5, SASS, Javascript, SEO and Accessibility integration). I can build the front-end from scratch with different framework such as React.js & Redux, ExpressJS and Drupal. To have better performance I use Vanilla Javascript but I am familiar with jQuery. All my projects have a GIT repo and I can use Vagrant and Docker. I have strong communication skills to be part of the team, and we can speak French too. For my second year in Australia I tried something new. Put Motion Design into my video! Living not too far from one of the most famous beaches of Sydney, I put those animations to the Bondi Beach drone videos. We are travelling through the cliffs of North Bondi and its golf at the sunrise, then we arrived at Bondi Beach with all the people doing their morning workout. We are going also at the Bondi Pavilion, the Bondi Icebergs restaurant, the lifeguard tower, the skatepark, its bodybuilders and its surfers. The motion design is a reference to the lifeguards and the permanent threat of the sharks at the Sydney beaches.

For this freelance mission, the team started to build the front-end of the website but it wasn’t very usable and beautiful. My work was to work on those aspects while rebuilding the HTML structure, improving the UI, the UX and putting SASS to accelerate the development.

After 4 months spent at Gatton for the farm work, a video was needed. All those sequences were taken at sunset (sunset for the win). We go by the Apex and Clarendon lakes, we see the coal train, the farms and Olympia in the Littleton park.

Here is my first drone video, a DJI Mavic Pro as it happens. After a few tests, it turns out that I love follow and film the surfers with that drone. My visit in the beautiful Byron Bay was the opportunity to make a video.
