A study note prepared as part of efforts towards imparting the knowledge of financial reporting to candidates preparing for professional exams in accounting and finance. This was necessitated by the knowledge gap existing in IFRS among students in Nigeria as a result of the transition from Nigerian GAAP to IFRS by quoted companies in Nigeria on 1st January, 2012.
