Writing stored procedures, VB COM modules, and VB Form UI's. Laying out framework (requirements docs, QA, release cycle, UML.) for future releases. Leveraging .Net technologies (XML, DHTML, IIS) in networked file/project management application that incorporates ActiveX controls, N-tier architecture, OOP programming methodology, Web Enabled interface, and client-server network technologies. The sort and file I/O engine used MFC libraries and were wrapped in an ATL component. The console interfaces were written in VB and exposed as a VB COM object. 11/2000 - 2/2001 Intel Hillsboro Software Engineer Contract: 3 months Created test applications for permanent storage memory array currently in development. Built applications in C++ using MFC. Applications handled file logging and parsing, rendering graphics, multithreading, and communicating with device drivers. Applications supported up to five devices, and provided a common interface to initialize, program, and test hardware. 7/2000 - 11/2000 Noregon Systems West Linn Lead Technical Engineer Pitched and created the architecture for Service Pro Web, an n-tier application that was slated to replace current client-server application. Managed software engineers on Service Pro 2.7, and worked with Project Manager and our client Freightliner to fulfill requirements for current release cycle. Made code and interface changes to SysAdmin, a login, administration tool written in Visual Basic, and coded Service Pro that was written in MFC and used the win32 API to send and retrieve data from the mainframe host systems. 1/2000 - 7/2000 Convergent Communications Portland, Oregon Sr. Software Engineer Lead technical team in the development of COM and COM+ and trained staff in component methodology. Created development system named VSDS (Visual Source Safe Development System) now used for all Visual C++, Visual Basic, Visual InterDev, and Cold Fusion development in the Portland business division. Built VB COM+ component that used ADO disconnected recordsets and ran parameters to stored procedures in SQL 7.0. Wrote ASP pages to collect form data and pack into recordsets to pass to middleware components. Wrote a variety of ASP pages for e-commerce/on-line transaction/database processing. Wrote ASP pages that used Site Server's pipeline to perform commerce transactions. 5/1999 - 1/2000 Consolidated Freightways Portland Software Engineer Contract. Duration: 9 months. Created MDI application FastForms in VC++ using MFC to generate, read, and print Consolidated Freightways's shipping forms. Worked with software engineers to incorporate VB COM components into the design to web enable our thick client solution, and to build server side, thin client version Built ASP pages for web presentation tier. 3/1996 - 4/1997 Advanced Computer Communications Santa Barbara Webmaster/Developer Contract. Duration: 1 year Managed company's Internet and Extranet sites (created web pages, graphics, forms, articles, and coordinated all web development for the company). 2/1995 - 3/1996 Transoft Santa Barbara Web Application Specialist C/C++/Oracle Developer Coded one of the first application server on-line shopping cart systems in C++ using the GNU compiler. System allowed Internet customers to search and retrieve stock photos, and view thumbnails on-line.
