I am a [login to view URL]. graduate with post-graduation PGDM (MBA) from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
I have spearheaded HMT’s watch division growth in the fifteen years that I spent in that organization during the period 1978 to 1993. In this period HMT Watch Division’s revenues went up from Rs 0.75 billion ($11 million) to Rs 2.90 billion ($50 million) per year.
I set up India’s first digital watch foray when I worked as General Manager for the Sikkim Time Corporation during the period 1994 to 1995.
In 1995, I took up a challenging task of branding a commodity like coffee and six months after I took up the responsibility I launched Coffee Day to the Indian market. I have been instrumental in launching and running all the divisions of Coffee Day during my tenure there between 1995 and 2004. By the time I left in 2004, I had firmly entrenched the brand in Indian consumer’s mind especially the burgeoning youth. Also, all my protégés that I developed are presently heading profitable divisions and there was a seamless transfer of responsibility after I left.
Since my retirement from Coffee Day I have taken up writing and consultancy as a retirement avocation.
I have written over 6 million words for various clients on a diverse range of topics.
I have undertaken various consultancy assignments in the areas of education, organic farming, journalism, health industry, art and real estate.
