ABOUT THE PRODUCTS:

For the on-premise channel
Premium price point (e.g. $40 a bottle on wine list)
For use in the Australian market
Convey small boutique winery feel, convey quality winemaking
Standout memorable designs
Quirky/Arty/Unique/Eclectic Designs (See examples attached for inspiration)
Connect with younger consumers (18-30 year old), particularly ‘social newbies’ (consumers at the start of their wine journey) and ‘adventurous explorers’ (consumers who are more knowledgeable at the later stages of their wine journey)
Must have personality
Range to include red, white and rose wines

REQUIREMENTS:

YOU ARE FREE TO USE ANY OF THE CONCEPTS ABOVE FOR A RED, WHITE OR ROSE WINE. CAN YOU PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU APPLY YOUR DESIGN TO A BURGUNDY BOTTLE AND SCREW CAP CLOSURE.

Specifications:
Front Label size: 82 mm x 100 mm (height x width)
Back Label size: 62 mm x 100 mm (height x width)
Chosen design to supply pdf and final illustrator files
Label to suit burgundy bottle shape
Use a generic screwcap colour within design (e.g. black, silver or white cap)
Mock up of label on product

BRIEF:
Design a memorable wine label for a new On Premise wine range.

It is hoped the wine label will appeal to both female and male millennial wine drinkers, who like to explore the wine category. The wine will sell at a premium price, approximately A$40 a bottle on a wine list, so it needs to look the part.

To look the part in a contemporary premium on-premise venue the label should be memorable and utilise fun, quirky, arty, unique or eclectic designs.

Often, but not always, memorable packaging design combines not only the visual aspects of a design but also the name and story of the wine. We have provided some proposed name concepts to base your design on, we are open to ideas you have on the story-telling behind the name and design.

The wines are likely to be from a premium region in South Australia such as the Adelaide Hills or Clare Valley.

To enhance the design we are open to including printing embellishments such as foiling, emboss, textured stocks, high builds etc.

ABOUT US:

We're a premium family-owned winery looking to create a new wine brand for the Australian on premise (restaurant) channel.

We're not looking for the usual, traditional wine label designs with a chateau or crest but rather unique, quirky, eclectic, artistic, cool, memorable and visually striking designs.

  The illustration is up to you - there's no logo. We're also leaving the story on the back label up to you as well, if you don't have any ideas, please just plain text to fill in story copy position. Have a look at Australian wine labels to see what sort of mandatory logos are required. Thanks!
