Contest Brief

We are wanting to create some additional simple small icons which match our original icons used within our mapping product.

These icons are placed overlaying on top of Satellite Imagery by the user to mark out specific points of interest on a map. They are small in size and need to work across low and high resolution screens (simple icons are better than detailed!)

We have some original icons which we Like and already use in our product and want to supplement these with additional icons which match with the originals Style.

Things like...

Line weighting
Colours
Rounding
Simplicity...

...should match with the original icons.

We will provide:

(1) Very fast feedback so you know what's right and what's wrong
(2) AI file including Original Icons and the Mockups which we want you to transform into the correct style
(3) Photo of icons in use on map - so you can see what colours stand out
(4) Examples of exported files

We require:

(1) The full .AI file with new icons included
(2) Each Icon exported as PNG at 131 x 131px at 100% opacity
(3) Each Icon exported as PNG at 70 x 70px at 70% opacity

What we don't want:

(1) Do not copy and paste 'clipart' into these icons. We want simple, elegant icons which are easy to see on our map and stand out from the background
(2) Dull colours - these icons need to stand out on the map

do the colors (red, orange, green, blue, purple, etc) used in the original icons have a meaning or they are random ? and if they have, how can I choose the color for each new icon ? and the shape also, there are circle, squares, triangles and other shapes, which shape do I choose for the new ones ?
