Contest Brief

The Manor (formerly known as the Edgwarebury Hotel) was founded on rich heritage and traditional values of quality and originality, and it stands on the site of an old Tudor house, which dates back to 1540. The Manor offers a variety of rooms to guest who wish to explore Hertfordshire or have business in London and prefer the countryside setting. We're in the perfect location to host any event you need, with multiple choices of function rooms and facilities.

If you haven't visited us before we will welcome you with open arms to come and enjoy our wonderful terrace bar with views over London, enjoy an afternoon tea experience or maybe you'd like to just pop up for a coffee in a relaxed environment.

Wimbledon BBQ on the 8th and 16th July, 2023

• On the lawn under the terrace.
• Large screen
• 1pm – 6pm
• Glass of Prosecco/Sauvignon Blanc/Pint, strawberries and cream, BBQ
• Price £40 per person – Children £15 (BBQ with a soft drink).

August

• 19th August – Brazilian BBQ. Let our Head chef Diogo showcase his talents from his country as he prepares an amazing Brazilian BBQ with the choice of a glass of Prosecco, Sauvignon, pint or a soft drink. £35 per person and £15 per children (under 16).

Afternoon Tea Promotion

We’re excited to announce the arrival of our new pastry chef Vikki. Vikki brings not only experience but passion and enthusiasm to assist us in giving you a wonderful afternoon tea experience. If you present this flyer when you have Afternoon Tea, we will give you 10% off your bill for the months of July, August and September.

Comedy themed evenings

We’re also excited to announce our comedy themed evenings at the Manor! All the below evenings include a 3-course meal. £75 per person. Bedrooms – 10% off when booking a themed evening.

6th October – Murder at Fawlty Towers - A murder mystery… Fawlty style!Basil’s plans to host a murder mystery evening at Fawlty Towers are scuppered when the Hotel Inspector is actually found murdered in his room! Typical…

10th November – Allo Allo Listen very carefully, I shall say this only once…Poor old Rene, as if things weren’t bad enough. The Germans already have him hiding the painting of the fallen Madonna by Van Clump. Michelle of the Resistance still needs his help to get the British airman back to England. And worst of all, Edith, his wife, still thinks she can sing!

2nd December – Basils xmas carol (xmas show) What the Dickens?! After telling Manuel that he has to work on Christmas Day, miserly old Basil Fawlty is visited by the ghosts of his old business partner and 3 comedy legends in this hilarious take on the Dickens Christmas Classic.

16th December – Vicar of Dibley (xmas show) A must for fans of the classic British sitcom!
Geraldine is hosting a fundraising dinner to raise money for the new church window… and you’re all invited! She’s even thrown a delicious 3 course meal into the mix.
