Contest Brief

I have two large 3840 x 2160 pixel images that are background photos for use in a film. I need to enhance the realistic look of these images by adding the following special effects elements to the foreground city area:

1. Chimney smoke to some of the buildings.
2. A blinking / fluttering light effect on the sign of the “Royal Hotel” for the Hotel Image.
3. A slight twinkle / blinking effects of some of the city lights on both images.
4. Maybe a small shimmering light effect off the water / harbor area of images.
5. Other options could include a slight atmospheric haze / fog effect (very minimal please, as too much effect might just give a washed out look).

I want an artist to create an animated 10 second sequence for EACH image (ie., 2 PNG image sequences in total for this job).

Deliverables:
1. PNG image sequences (with alpha channel for transparent overlay of your effects on the master image background plates)
2. Video length = 10 second image sequence (for each image)
3. Frame rate: 29.97
4. 4K pixel sequence size: 3840 x 2160 pixels

I have attached both images (watermarked) that you can use for compositing the special effects (these are the actual images to be used in the film). You can provide a Youtube / Vimeo or GoogleDrive link to your video submissions.

Can this be done in after effects and can it be exported as an MP4? AVI?

  Yes, you can do as After Effects, but prefer an PNG image sequence. But you can use an MP4 video for preview of your submission on YouTube, Vimeo or GoogleDrive.
