Contest Brief

At Nurture, we believe that all women, irrespective of their caste, religion or community should have access to good menstrual hygiene.

A very important component of maintaining good menstrual hygiene is to use paper pads during periods, instead of cloth. But, unfortunately, very few women are aware of the numerous advantages of using paper pads, and the perils of using cloth. And then, there are women from poor communities, who despite being aware of the advantages of paper pads, simply do not have the resources to afford them.

The 2 problems mentioned above are precisely the ones which we hope to address for a start, in our noble initiative, Nurture.

Nurture means caring and protecting. At nurture we intend to tend to folks who have been deprived of basic human needs in three steps:

1. Educate - Why should people worry to get a certain need fulfilled?
2. Provide - give them a first hand experience of using a certain basic need.
3. Persist - Ensure that they adopt the practice as a daily habit and benefit from its usage.
