<Technology Description>
This technology is used to update (upgrade) the software and data installed in the vehicle to the latest state. Examples of this software and data include car navigation system software and map data.
　One of the problems that can occur when updating software and data to the latest version is that the updating process cannot be performed while the vehicle is in use.
　To solve this problem, this technology identifies the time period when the vehicle is estimated to be unused based on the past vehicle usage time period history, and performs the update work during that time period. In this case, the time-of-use history determines that the vehicle is in use if the vehicle key is inserted into the key cylinder, and not in use if the key is not inserted.
