Contest Brief

We are a startup building an e-commerce platform application where we are having functionality for managing the catalog for stores, submitting orders etc. We use MySQL and all tables so far are relational. We plan to host the application on Amazon on production but currently we have a staging VPS hosted environment on OVH. We use Github. What we want to have is a reporting environment so that we can do reports and analytics for example see how many orders were placed on the platform, ideally with a UI on top that is configurable to setup own reports. We are looking at open source out of the box solution ideally to avoid extra costs.
The person that takes the assignment should be responsible for designing the solution and implementing it. Ideally please provide an overview of the proposal what solution you will propose and how you will cover the requirement.
The solution should include also the mechanism of copying data to a reporting environment and the implementation
The solution should ideally allow development of APIs in the future e.g. if we want to build some APIs to retrieve number of orders in the platform
We will not have big amount of data in the beginning so we are looking for something more lightweight
