asp.net installation on new 1&1 hosting account

We have uploaded a copy of the entire existing site to a new MS business package with 1&1. I've followed their advice, but the site will still not display!
I've been told to put the site in a folder on the root directory, make it an application folder and have a [url removed, login to view] re-direct from the root directory to the new folder.
I have been told to change the [url removed, login to view] file in this folder so the custom errors mode is Off, but that didn't work!
First ASP site I've worked and need some help? Just need somebody to install / set up so the site will display. It's been working with another hosting company and they've sent me a ZIP file with the entire site, which has been uploaded onto the new account. Just need it to display...
We do need this to display / work ASAP, then more work may follow.
