I am designing a user interface that utilizes a 320 x 240 ¼ VGA B/W LCD display. I need some graphics designed to show several machine functions. The unit is basically a huge shop vacuum that is compromised of a few basic components. One is the vacuum motor … it is a multistage centrifugal blower. It could be represented as a spinning turbine fan when on and stationary when off.

The second item is an electric air compressor. It could be represented as a piston moving up and down in a cylinder.

The third item is a valve that basically “pulses?? a burst of air backward throught the filters to clean them once every 30 seconds. A short pulse of air causes the dust accumulated on the cartridges to fall into collection bins below at predetermined intervals keeping the cartridges clean whilst the collector is in operation. It might be shown as a cylindrical filter that goes from black (dirty ) to white (clean) when the valve pulses. I need windows bitmaps of the graphics at a size not to exceed 60 x 60. I will do an animation by cycling several images on the display so each representation will need 4-6 different views. Any better ideas on representing the functions are welcomed.
