I have a universal timer unit that can be set to turn ON and OFF up to 4 times a day. The unit incorporates a accurate Real Time Clock so it only needs to be set once every few years, as well as a Infra Red interface (Not IRDA compliant). There are 4 OFF and ON times for the weekdays and the same for each Sat and Sun.

e.g.

(SEND or GET)

Monday to Friday ON1 OFF1 ON2 OFF2 ON3 OFF3 ON4 OFF4

Saturday ON1 OFF1 ON2 OFF2 ON3 OFF3 ON4 OFF4

Sunday ON1 OFF1 ON2 OFF2 ON3 OFF3 ON4 OFF4

(SEND or GET)

Current Date and Time (fetched from GPS unit if SEND)

On a button press the fields will be sent via USB (Silicon labs CP2102 or FTDI232 devices to a IR I/F) and then on to the timer unit.

The fields can either be read from the timer unit via the IRDA and USB I/F or can be sent to the timer unit.

Packets will strt with header and length byte and be appended with 16 bit CRC.

Hello, I have read your requirements and understand them. I'm working with USB on Android (using FTDI). Developed several applications with data transmission. I also worked with IR transmission.
