Banner widget for Wordpress template

I have a Wordpress website called [url removed, login to view] with a layout that I like very much. However, I would like these two things added to the template:
1. I would like to have banners in a sidebar in the right hand side of the website.
2. I would like to have a nice slider in the top which features my newest 5-6 posts.
I don't care if you create a whole new template or if you modify my existing layout. I just want it to work and keep the layout as it is now. The template I use is called Inuit Types and I found it on [url removed, login to view]
