C# .Net Web App - Need Listview Expertise

Here is an ideal of what I need: The app has add,del,clr button outside the listview box, with the exception of the upd button which I have set as Link buttons. I have in place the code to populate the [login to view URL] through a sql query, displayed at the bottom of the page. 1) When I set the param of the Listview to insertItemPosition ="FirstItem" I am able to Add a record (not all the code is setup, but I will finish it). But I am not able to select a row from the list of records from the itemlist and bring it into view for updating. If you could help me with this portion, just get me started and I can code the actual update in the business layer/data layer. If I remove the insertItemPosition value then I can select the row from the list it comes into view for edit, but when I enter data the update validation controls are raised for some reason...(InsertItemPosition needs to be set to Firstitem) 2) Also I have a couple of date entry fields, if you could code an ajax control perhaps to popup a calendar for data entry. * I need also the front end code for the Del, Clear buttons, I can code the BLL/DLL portion.
