Every now and then I need to test out some apps or I need to visit some websites to see how they look through a mobile device or a tablet.
Now is there a way for me to run an app without needing a smartphone? Maybe there are some android or iOS emulators that you can install and run on your desktop-pc, or maybe there are ISO-images that you can run on a vServer, or maybe there are some service providers out there that offer android/iOS as a service in the cloud. I really just need to be able to test out some apps and thats it, I dont need anything else.
My only requirement would be that it should be completly isolated from my desktop-pc. So this android/iOS emulator or ISO-image (or whatever) should be caged and put into a virtual environemnt through VirtualBox (or something else) so I can just boot it up when I need it and then power it off again. Though my pc is a bit old and not very powerful (it still runs Windows 7 in 32bit and only has 4GB of ram) and even has problems running Linux in VirtualBox. So that approach might actually not work.
Another thought that I had is:
Maybe there are some ISO-images of Android or iOS out there that you can install on a vServer, that way it would also be isolated and seperated from my desktop-pc. Or maybe there are some cloud-providers that offer android or iOS as a service for a monthly fee.
I dont have any experience whatsoever with Android or iOS so I dont know how to set any of this up, and what the solution to my problem is and how this could be accomplished. So your job would be to find a solution and then implement it and make it all work so its ready for me to use.
