As a proof of concept, build an application that me (as the user) can open, when I open another application (like notepad or winword, or excel) the application you developed captures the opened application name into a multi line textbox.
Me (as the user) opens a file, the path to the file is captured into the multi line textbox.
As more apps or files are opened, values are appended into the textbox
