I would like to hire a Coder

- Creation of new document either from SP Controlled document library or upload an existing document.

- Document should have a coversheet in which few details user can fill manually and others should be populated automatically based on the document lifecycle

- Easy to use approval workflow for the document which can cover document submission for approval, approver can request changes back from requestor, approver can also change the document without updating the version, approve or reject the document, comments during the approval process, notifications.

- Start approval workflow on multiple documents

- Workflow history should be available showing who did what and when

- Version history of the document should be available with a possibility to restore the previous versions

- Coversheet should be updated automatically with latest document status draft/Pending/Approved/Rejected/Expired etc., latest version.

- Coversheet should be updated automatically with change history. For e.g. if today an approver has approved the document then in coversheet version history it should show the approver name, date and action taken.

- The required metadata from SP document library should be available in coversheet (only selected metadata)

So, the idea is if someone downloads the document then document itself should show the whole approval information independent of document management system (i.e. SPO). Please send me a note if you have any queries.

I have written code that uses the OpenXML SDK to allow inserting text in to a word document – they supplied a template which I lightly modified to add content tags, and gave the version history table an “alt text” name so my code could reference it.

you can use the document approval smart starter and add SP part to it, the workflow should be initiated by creation of new document in SP or by uploading a new document. This should not bee too complex as it is a POC, not a production solution
