Pushing a CMS to the max for a new international NGO, with just about every conceivable function and plug-in under the sun. From our initial research Drupal seems the optimal CMS for this, but we are open to well-reasoned alternatives.
Integration with google translate for post by post possible translation to the readers language (like facbook), possible auto-translation of posts and whole pages for alternative languages in the system. Minimum english, spanish, french, german with several open slots for other languages, including russian, japanese, dutch and nordic languages.
We are looking for the page framework, with an exceptional database design at the core leaving all options for further development open! A lot of content will be generated by volunteers, so multiple levels of access and editorial privileges will be needed.
The solution has to allow for high end visuals, graphic design etc. Too many CMS based solutions bend to the limitations of the CMS when it comes to the look and feel of the pages! If you/your team can also do design that is great, but stellar coders dont usually also make great design:) We are open for you to prove otherwise though!
NDA will have to be signed by all involved in this early phase. Very little information will be given about the nature of the NGO beyond the needs for functionality until a later stage.
We are communicators! So we love any and all questions: Better to ask one time too many, than once too few! And pour on the details and technical jargon. We want everything well-documented.

You can be from ANY country, as long as you can be professional, structured and DELIVER! A working level of English language would be appreciated, but it is not a requirement.
Successful delivery can potentially lead to long term permanent position as head systems engineer of the NGO, or if you are a company/team a long term contract.
