External data in to a Google Spreadsheets Sheets

Let's say I have a Google spreadsheet with data in cells A1 and A2 (this means the next empty row I have is row 3).

I need to know the URL syntax that allows me to pass a value like "abc^def" to the next empty row in column A (cell A3).

For example, it might be something like http://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/sheetkey=a2Gwfewa@g3&value=abc^def

(I made up the link above)

If I type in the same URL again it will then populate the next empty row, column A (cell A4) with the "abc^def" value.

After reading this, please watch the short attached video for a video explanation of what is needed.
