We currently have a measuring tool used for carrying out simple distance-related measurements in diagram images directly on the screen built using Adobe Flash. For example a user moves an image of a graded ruler on top of an image and can thereby measure distance in the image.
Given that support for Flash will end by December 2020 we need to convert the measuring tool to HTML 5. When implementing the new measuring tool in HTML 5, we wish at the same time extend the functionality of the tool with some new features compared to the existing Flash-based tool.
As inspiration for the new measuring tool, the current Flash-based tool can be used as reference to get a better idea of the purpose of the tool and its use cases.
