I am working on the sequel to a series of Alice in Wonderland spin-offs. Book one is about Tweedledee and Tweedledum. The next book features Mad Hatter and is an origin story. It will help if you are familiar with the character or the books.
This is a children's book and there should be some fun. With that said there is a bit of darkness behind him as well. The book is not yet written but I am seeking an illustrator that has an eye for depth and detail.
I want the book to have a retro feel, similar to Chris Van Dusen's art style and keep his depth of field. You should have an eye for unique angles and have out-of-the-box ideas. In other words, I don't want the images to feel so flat and boring. David Catrow has some nice stuff as well as William Joyce, Chris Van Allsburg.

32- pages consisting of spreads, one-pages, and spots
Has an end-page
Will be hardback.
What I get:
All rights to the illustrations. (signed contract for work-for-hire)
psd source files and jpegs
32-pages of illustrations
Cover (I will do a lot of the design)
Title page (we may be able to use something from the illustrated pages)
End page wallpaper (typically a pattern or color)
You sign me 2 copies and send back to me (I'll pay postage.)
What you get:

100 percent credit for your work.
Credit on the spine and front cover.
2-signed copies of the book for yourself. (Sign 2-copies and send back to me for my personal collection - I will pay postage.)
