Web Developer Wanted - Part Time/Full Time
$30-35 USD / hour
Hi, I'm looking to hire a part time web developer (up to 20 hours per week) with the possibility of working full-time. Ideally, you should have 5+ years of web development experience with the following: - Excellent knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, Div based layouts and cross-browser compatibility. You will be tasked with converting Photoshop page designs into functional HTML web pages. Designs need to be pixel perfect. Ideally you will have experience with things like sprite graphics and optimizing image file sizes for the web, and creating custom CSS drop down menus and AJAX widgets. - Excellent knowledge of PHP and MySQL. Rarely will you work on custom PHP/MySQL applications from scratch, but you should have experience with creating database schemas (or working from ones provided to you) and restructuring MySQL databases. - Experience in creating custom WordPress themes that are widget ready, ability to create custom WordPress plugins, and great experience with a range of open source plugins. Most of your work will focus on programming custom WordPress themes, installing WordPress and transferring WordPress websites. Ideally you will have experience with optimizing your code for speed, using CDNs like Amazon Cloudfront, and cache plugins. I don't develop websites in Joomla and Drupal, but if you have some experience with those, that may be helpful. Beyond the above, the ideal person will also have at least a decent understanding of: - SEO best practices (Meta tags, file naming, H tags, URL structure and permalinks, etc.). A bonus would be someone that can also provide more hands-on SEO help with keyword research and link building also. - Basic hosting support: setting up nameservers, DNS, Google Apps support, Setting up WebMaster Tools and Analytics - Flexibility to provide website basic maintenance and updates for sites built in various content management systems (such as adding new content or uploading new graphics) and creating/editing email newsletters. Please provide recent examples of WordPress websites, PSD to HTML conversions and maybe some complex custom PHP/MySQL websites or custom WordPress sites. You must be ready to start right away!
