I am soliciting bids to create a user generated content website that allows users to browse pictures submitted by other users and rate those pictures based on attractiveness. Users who wish to set up a login id (the user’s email address) and password gain the ability to send private communication to other registered users message inbox. Registered users also have the ability to submit their own pictures (accompanied by some basic biographical information) to be rated by other users. At this basic level, the site would work similarly to the popular website hotornot.com.
The proposed website would have an additional feature not used by hotornot.com. When submitting pictures to be rated, each user must affiliate themselves with a specific group. The website would then use the ratings submitted by users to automatically perform two sets of rankings. First, each user who submitted a picture would be ranked within the group they affiliated themselves with. Second, the average ratings of the top 30 members of each group would be computed so that the groups could be ranked against each other.
In essence, there would be two competitions taking place on the website: 1) individual users would be competing against other users within their group and 2) groups would be competing against other groups. Users of the site would have the ability browse user profiles and rate other users using a variety of filters including a random shuffle.
This site would require a database to hold picture files and biographical information. Pictures and text would all be displayed on the website in order of ranking, with the highest rated displayed the most prominently.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
IN ADDITION
1. User accounts are able to be created.
2. Pictures and bio info are able to be inputted and stored in user account.
3. Communication between members via messages like Myspace.
4. Lost password feature.
5. Ability to comment on pictures and profiles.
6. I want the website to be dynamic so that ratings will be calculated and pictures will be placed in order automatically.
7. I want a control panel so that I can edit the content easily.
8. I want to be able to approve pictures and profiles to make sure no obscene content is uploaded.
9. I want the ability to easily place advertising and change advertising on the sites various pages.
10. I want a feature that will allow users to tell a friend and it will forward an email to join or visit the site.
11. I want an auto email feature to welcome new users to the site.
12. I want a “send?? feature so picture or profile links can be easily sent to email address and or provides the link to that page.
13. I also would like to have a Widget feature created that contestants can put on their Facebook and Myspace pages that displays their current ranking on my site and allows their friends to click on the Widget and rate the contestant.
14. I would like the site to be coded on an open source platform.
15. Website to look sleek. Web 2.0.
