my project will be about network security issues regarding the general public which can also implicate small business and organisation.
with regards my project, i think the ordinary man in the street is not very security aware, am proposing to interview and number of people in order to identify what they do, from the findings it is proposed an informative easy to understand guide which would help such people or organisation with the security issues such as password usernames, uses of portable devices and wireless connections, firewalls and programs.
the people will be in two separate groups one which is purely for the individual and the others would be people who run their own small business i.e internet cafe, phone shop etc.
i will create an final product application which would be a easy to understand step of how to better protect yourself from harm and to be aware of common natural security flaws in modern day society.
if you think this is not feasible i have a another project i could do which would be a devices that changes the wireless names, password and admin password/usersnames on home/small offices customers routers such as belkin, Netgear and others that ISP providers uses, as they are shipped out with factory settings, which could be later a security issues for anybody using them. i would like to create a small application that would be easy and user friendly for anybody computer savy or not to understand the basic security settings of their hub/router to be able to change and understand the reason for changing all there information on their router/hub. also have they activated certain services which could leave you worst off and less protected
