Java Application connectivity with Server

Overview:
I require someone to take a small existing java application (I will provide the source code) and add the ability to a) check for updates; b) send statistics back to a server. All interaction with the server should be kept in a log file.
I would prefer someone who has expertise in creating a commercial java application with similar capability. Send screenshots if available or a link to your application.
I would prefer someone who has integrated licensing/registration ability with PayPal - as this would be the next project.
