Overview:
Fireless Flooring is a startup developing a new type of fire prevention system for flammable liquids. This is system offers a completely different way of fighting flammable liquid fires. Potential applications are aircraft hangars for the military and protection of methanol tanks on offshore platforms. The Fireless flooring system is a modular flooring system that prevents spilled flammable liquids from igniting. In case the flammable liquid is already burning, the floor suppresses the ignited fuel within seconds.
We just completed our seed round financing and are now focusing on completing the final design of the product.
Company’s Mission:
Make Fireless Flooring the standard fire protection system in our industry.
Job Goal:
To design piping related systems of the prototype of the Fireless Flooring system. This work is fundamental in developing our prototype into an actual product.
Summary of key responsibilities:
Design the inlet and outlet systems of our prototype. This is part of a complete feed and suction system to remove flammable liquids out of the flooring system. You will also be involved in manufacturing and testing the designed system. The test procedures will involve testing with water in our Houston location and actual live fire tests at a fireman training field outside of Houston.
The design work can be done remotely, however you must be available for weekly face to face progress meetings in our office in Houston. These meetings can be planned after work hours or in the weekends to accommodate your schedule. Tests can be conducted after work hours as well.
When the quality of the work and cooperation is successful more jobs can be awarded in the future.
Skill requirements:
• BS in Mechanical engineering
• Experience in the design of piping systems: 3 years +
• Experience in product/system development
• Software skills: AutoCAD or Inventor
