Fix corrupt videos

I have some videos that are corrupt and don't play properly. Please help to fix them AND tell me how you did it so that I can fix the rest of the collection.
Currently what I experience is that the videos start, show an image or the first few frames then stop playing even though they are minutes long.
I am technically capable and competent but time poor so please help me find a solution.

Note: two videos are attached as examples. I fear that picasa has corrupted them but I am not sure. Prove that you can fix one or both of these then we are in business.
