Small User Permissions Problem on Wordpress

I've recently moved a site from expressionengine to wordpress and also changed from shared hosting to a VPS. I'm not sure what the problem was but users are not able to see or edit their profile. After they are logged in, they receive this message:
"You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page"
And are unable to edit anything on their profile. I need this fixed.
