My recent projects have been writing product descriptions for a gadget website, a telesales script for a New Zealand Wedding Expo, keyword rich articles on everything from contact lenses to web hosting for US and UK clients, book editing for an Australian client, sales letters for various clients in the UK and US and game reviews for a Russian client.
I am an experienced copywriter, technical writer, trainer and IT/Website tester. My background in writing technical manuals was while I was working for an employer. I worked with clients all over the world and lived in the US for a couple of years.
Since returning to the UK over three years ago I have been working as a freelance writer and IT tester as well as concentrating on improving my web skills.
While I have been a freelancer I have turned my hand to everything from adult oriented text to editing children's books.
I can write about almost anything, as long as I am able to research it and I pride myself on my attention to detail, as well as being able to tailor my writing to suit any audience.
I am an accomplished Product Training Specialist for a broadcasting equipment manufacturer and held this position for 3 years. My experience is in Windows based software and custom hardware. The classes are for varied numbers of students and can be either classroom or hands-on based. I excel at providing practical training and pride myself in being able to train almost everyone that I meet. My clients are primarily master control operators of varying levels of competency. I have trained in television networks all over the country and abroad including the BBC, TBS, CBS and CNN to groups of various sizes.
I design and present my own courses using a variety of methods and am quick to learn new technologies. I specialise in customising my courses to suit the students' needs.
I was involved in a Computer Based/Web Based Training initiative with a key client. This was produced using Flash and I am very proud of the end result.
This is a field that has endless possibilities for companies of any kind.
As I was often on-site on my own I had to become proficient at installing and setting up the software as well as faultfinding. This often involved networked PCs and databases running on a number of platforms including NT and Windows 95 and an SQL database. Some knowledge of cabling was also involved with our hardware and basic electronics.
Prior to becoming a trainer I had experience in writing operator's guides and technical manuals for the company. I was with the company 6 years, 4 of which were in the United Kingdom prior to relocating to Atlanta for 2 years.
