Civil engineering is the branch of engineering concerned with the design, construction, and maintenance of the built environment, including structures such as buildings, bridges, roads, and water supply systems. Civil engineers apply mathematical and scientific principles to plan and design projects that meet specific needs, such as ensuring public safety, protecting the environment, and providing efficient transportation systems. Civil engineering can also involve elements of art, particularly in the design and aesthetic aspects of construction projects. For example, architects and civil engineers may collaborate on the design of a bridge, considering both its structural integrity and its visual appeal. The design of a building or other structure may also involve artistic considerations,...
Structure will be used for trainee's working at heights
Hi, we are looking to fit a screw conveyor from a bucket elevator to a silo we would need an engineered drawing. The screw conveyor would be at the mill building at Fireside Minerals mine 130k south of Watson Lake, is the drawing something that you would be interested in doing if so I can get you the information required to produce a quote. Thanks Graham
Need structural specifics/verification for a post-frame barndominium. Mostly concerned with appropriate lumber and fastener choices as they pertain to our build environment (Colorado) and foundational requirements to support the structure appropriately. Engineer stamped plans are not required for permitting, but peace of mind that the home will be structurally sound IS required. More information available upon request.
We are a marine general contractor who works in North Carolina building custom boat docks and seawalls. These are relatively simple structures but jurisdictions are often now requiring and engineered, stamped drawing. We do the sketches and provide samples...you just put in CAD and stamp. 0 to 1 revision is the general case.
Hurricane Ian tore the roof off of our mobile home in Bradenton Florida. We built a new roof over the home and carport and the county needs a letter from a licensed structural engineer approving what we have built because we replaced the aluminum roof with a wood frame roof and shingles and the previous owner did not get a permit to build over the carport.
We need a structural engineer to confirm that a wall in our flat which was moved 8 years ago was a non supporting wall and that the work has not in any way compromised the structural integrity of the building. I have original drawings which show that none of the internal walls are supporting, and 8 years on there are no indications of any issues, but we need this confirmed in writing for our freeholder. Attached drawing shows the works completed.
I run a steel fabrication company and require ongoing assistance with BOQs and take-offs. The ideal candidate will have expertise in using structural and architectural drawings to calculate member lengths, which will then be recorded in an Excel sheet. When applying, please include your hourly rate in AUD, your ability to complete work within 48 hours, and any relevant experience as a structural engineer or architect. Note that the workload may vary from week to week, and proficiency in Bluebeam software would be a plus. On average, take-offs take approximately 1 hour to complete
I am looking to work with a professional structural/material Engineer who has worked in academic research and writing content. The freelancer/researcher should have the ability to read and understand different scientific/ journal/ Thesis / Dissertation/ Reports about crack width & spacing in Reinforced Concrete. The first step is searching for papers that include the wanted experimental data results related to crack width & spacing in Reinforced Concrete and sending them to me to double check it's helpful to have data collected from it. Also, I can help with choosing some papers/ reports. After approving the papers, the freelancer has to write a one-page summary of the paper as proof of reading and then can start getting enter the data in an Excel sheet in the proper order (se...

I want to prepare a basic design for a flat (skillion) steel truss using drill pipe (70mm OD; 5mm wall thickness) for the top and bottom and a smaller diameter pipe for the internal section - you should be an experienced structural engineer - your job is to spec the truss, including to suggest the diamter of the internal pipe (available in Australia) and provide a basic design in CAD or similar that can be fabricated by my welding team.
I need structural engineering plans for retaining walls being built on the property. I have multiple retaining walls that are being built on the property and would like them engineered to withstand the hillside so that they do not fail prematurely and so that I can get a permit from the city of Orinda, CA. The height of the retaining wall on the street side with a fence on top is roughly 4.5 -5 feet tall. The height of the retaining wall in the drive way is roughly 5 feet tall. In the back yard, there are two additional retaining walls that are roughly 4.5 and 6 feet tall respectively. The length of all of these walls range from 25 feet in the drive way, to roughly 40 feet on the street side, to roughly 40 feet or so in the back yard. I have included the design drawing I received to assist...
