Data Acquisition and Control
$30-5000 USD
Paid on delivery
Project is to test performance of two simple home-built solar thermal panels. Tasks will include monitoring and recording temperature and pyranometer data. It will also include some basic control functions (e.g. turning fans or pumps on and off, based on temperature, etc -- a simple thermostat). Also desire to serve data up to the web -- e.g. via [rrdtool][1].
Hardware purchased to date includes LabJack U3 (16 channel A/D converter connects to host computer via USB), temperature sensors, SSR's (solid state relays). Buyer will supply all hardware.
Development platform to be determined. Labjack has drivers for Windows, Linux & Mac, plus sample code in multiple languages. It also comes bundled with a basic (but adequate for this project) data acquisition app called DaqFactory Express. Preference (so far -- pending more info) is python on linux.
Total inputs ~ 13 (10 analog, 3 digital).
Total outputs ~ 6 digital (control SSR's)
