Description from my client:
"There is no need for the site to be particularly pretty. We have a list of about 100 vocab words right now, and I'd like to offer a game where one of the words shows up with 4 pictures above it. If someone clicks the right picture, there's some indication that they got it right (preferably visual and not audio, like a check mark or a smiley face or something). If they click the wrong picture, that picture goes away (turns grey, fades, disappears, whatever) and now the person is down to 3 choices. This repeats until they get it right.
Once they get it right, they're given another word and set of pictures. Ideally the words that the player got wrong will resurface later in the game for them to try again (we have 2 correct pictures for each word, so that the correct picture can be different the second time around). It's possible for me to come up with "wrong answer" pictures separately for each word, but I would prefer to create a wrong answer pool with about 1000 pictures that just get pulled up randomly. If that's significantly harder than having distinct wrong answer photos for each word, I can break them up.
That's the whole game. We would like to provide some way for players to get a score at the end, and it would be great if they were able to share that score on fb, twitter, etc.
For now, there doesn't need to be any way to login, to pay, or to save information. The site does not need to be particularly pretty - the functionality is much more important to us than the look. It can be a very simple design. We do want the ability to post blog posts and news, but I'm happy to put that on a free Wordpress blog and just link it on the site if it's a significant cost to set it up.
I would like to be able to add more words/pictures to the game on my own after it is set up. I'm able to follow simple coding direction and copy what's been done before if given directions. My current site (for another business) was set up in Drupal and it's been great to be able to change and update the content on my own with minimal coding.
I am looking for an estimate on timeline and cost for creating that much of the site for now. There are additional games coming over the next year, and I hope to find someone who might continue to work on them (paid per project), but for now I'd like to get this piece rolling. I can have all the photos and words available and shared in whatever format you normally use by this Friday."
