Quick fix for PHP script

This modification will be very easy for any PHP programmer. I am a beginner, so I am unable to fix this myself. I have a file from a PHP script which I use to quickly update my online status on my website. It shows a message, a smiley and the date when the status was last updated. I want the script to show a custom message for the updated status, such as "Updated yesterday", or "updated over a day ago". If it was updated in the last 24-hours, for example 2 hours and 15 minutes ago, it should state: "Updated 02H:15M ago." I tried to modify the script so it will show these messages but it is not working for me. I am a beginner at PHP so would appreciate any help. I have attached the file for review. If necessary, I can upload the entire script but only after I have selected a coder. However, I believe any experienced coder will recognize what I am trying to accomplish and will fix this in seconds. Thank you.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables):
a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
